About the Scholarship

The Columbia Chapter of the Health Physics Society is proud to announce a scholarship award of $1,000 to a student in a health physics-related educational path at an accredited institution. Eligible fields of study include, but are not limited to: radiation protection; nuclear engineering; x-ray/nuclear medicine; or health physics certification. Scholarship funds will be deposited to an account at the applicant’s college

Eligibility & Document Checklist

Eligible fields of study in the radiological sciences include, but are not limited to: 

Health physics/radiation protection; 

Nuclear engineering; 

X-ray/nuclear medicine; or 

Health physics certification.

Letter of recommendation from a math or science teacher or college instructor

Transcript of grades (it is acceptable to send a photocopy, faxed copy, or a downloaded copy of a transcript as long as the copy is legible and contains the required information)

A 1,000-word essay on “Health Physics as a Profession”

The CCHPS Scholarship Application Deadline is January 18, 2022

The Columbia Chapter of the Health Physics Society (CCHPS), Herbert M. Parker Foundation, and American Nuclear Society Eastern Washington Section (ANS-EWS) are proud to announce multiple scholarship opportunities for students enrolled in or seeking enrollment to a health physics or related educational program at an accredited institution. 

This year, scholarships will be exclusively awarded to students presenting at the Herbert M. parker symposium. To apply for any of the scholarships listed below please fill out the application form and forward all necessary documents to the Scholarship Committee before the scholarship application deadline.
